After receiving information at a “Rotarians for Literacy” meeting with our Rotary business partners, students at Smyrna West discovered an ad requesting a marketing volunteer for Literacy Matters. As a Service Learning group, students saw this need as a rewarding project. Students invited Ms. Ronni Shaw, Director of Rutherford County Read To Succeed to speak about the importance of the project. Lee Rennick, Executive Director, Chamber of Commerce Business in Partnership also spoke on marketing. Together with teachers and students, I am pleased to congratulate all contributors on an excellent product and a job well done.

Many thanks go to Mrs. Debora Pack, Ms. Kara Porter and the Lion’s Quest: Skills In Action Class who invested their talents and many hours to compile an informative package for people of all ages to promote literacy and broaden the level of reading in the lives of others.
